Results from an international study indicate that increasing age appears to be associated with higher disease-specific mortality among postmenopausal women with hormone receptor-positive breast cancer. When compared with women younger than 65, those aged 65 to 74 and those aged 75 and older experienced higher disease-specific mortality as they aged. Breast cancer relapse and other-cause mortality also increased with age in patients aged 65 to 74 and in those aged 75 or older.
