Swedish research suggests that mass screening for atrial fibrillation atrial fibrillation in patients aged 75 or 76 appears to identify a significant percentage of those with untreated atrial fibrillation. Over 28 months, previously unknown atrial fibrillation was detected in 3.0% of participants. An initial electrocardiogram detected 0.5% of atrial fibrillation cases in the study.
